Index Green Tec Climate 30

Principles
The GreenTec-Climate-Index is a performance index with dividend charge, the re-allocation occurs every six months, beginning with 1.1.2008, the re-balancing of the weighting quarterly (for technical reasons is the deadline in each case 3rd Friday of the previous month). The index is calculated by Dow Jones on euro-base.
Analogously to the world-renowned climate protection film " an uncomfortable truth " from Al Gore 30 index enterprises were selected after six subject areas relevant for climate and the first subject with 50% (10 titles á 5%) dominates, the other 5 with 10% (4 titles á 2.5%) are weighted:

1) Renewable energy
2) energy-efficient transport
3) energy-efficient products and houses
4) CO2 reduction / carbon finance
5) Water
6) re-use and recycling

Excluding criteria

Excluding criterias / impossible branches
nuclear energy, mining, oil, genetic-technical seeds manipulation, child employment, aviation and astronautics, injuries of human rights, rain forest destruction, tobacco, bioassays, weapons / atomic, biological and chemical agents energy-efficient and raw material-efficient management, circulatory economy, environmental management systems, certifications after ecological standards like FSC

Positive criteria
With the choice the index enterprises were submitted to strict sustainability criteria. A large part of the overall turnover must be generated from enterprise areas which counteract against the global warming, while they contribute to the reduction of CO2 issues. With the area renewable energy no customary agrarian fuel titles (agrarian diesel, Ethanol) were consciously taken up which stand on account of the raw material need in competition to the food production, but only one enterprise which develops a technology with cellulose as a base. The enterprises must show a least capitalisation of 100 Mil. euros.
