Aim of investment The iShares Dow Jones Global Sustainability Screened is an exchange traded funds (ETF) that tracks as accurately as possible the performance of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Enlarged Index ex Alcohol, Tobacco, Gambling, Armaments & Firearms and Adult Entertainment Index.
Investment strategy The ETF invests directly in index securities.
Investment process The selection of indexing components is based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria.
The selection of the leading companies from a sustainability point of view for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes is based on the sustainability analysis of SAM Research. An important source of information are the SAM questionnaires to be filled in by the at the annual analysis involved companies.
As additional sources further serve company documents and also by third parties, as well as personal contacts between analysts and company representatives.
Based on the analysis results of the SAM Research, companies are located within their industry on a sustainability scale, and elected for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, if, from a sustainability perspective, they are among the leading companies in its industry.
