Aim of investment The wqaterfund is a part of the Pictet Funds Umbrella (PF). It is the aim of this special fund to beat ist benchmark the MSCI World Index (Euro)
Investment strategy Worldwide investment in stocks of companies which generate at least 20% of their turnover from the water sector and/or are the world market leader in a part of the water sector.
Investment process A global investment universe of 178 companies is identified by means of a screening procedure. After the application of a liquidity filter, 80 corporations remain as the core invest universe. A bottom-up analysis filters the most attractive securities. Fundamental factors (sustainable business model, potential to generate cash-flow, management quality) are weighted 70% and the rating factors (rating, momentum) are weighted 30%. The fund can move its focus between defensive values (Water suppliers, water distributors, water consumers) and cyclical values (industrial values) depending on their economic outlook by means of top-down sub-sector overlays (cash 0-10% max). Two third of the fund capital have to be invested in large caps (market capitalization larger than 1 bill. Euro)
