The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) family is derived from and fully integrated with the Dow Jones Global Indexes. The Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index and respective subsets track the performance of the top 20% of the 600 largest Australian, Hong Kong, Japanese, Korean, New Zealand, Singaporean and Taiwanese companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index that lead the field in terms of sustainability. Through a best-in-class approach, SAM aims to identify sustainability leaders for the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Indexes.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific 40 Index tracks the performance of the largest companies in the Asia pacific region that are included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index. The 40 companies are weighted by their sustainability score.
The analysis consists of general as well as industry specific criteria. The index provider believes that corporate sustainability increases shareholder value in the long run.
